**For everyone who wants to try rugby!**
From September – October, Lugi Lions Rugby Club is organizing introductory training sessions for anyone (15+) who wants to give rugby a try. For 6 weeks, two days a week, for one hour, experienced coaches will explain the basics of the game and guide you through simple exercises, such as passing and catching a rugby ball, running lines so your teammate can pass to you, tackling and being tackled.
**Practical information at a glance:**
**When?** For 6-7 weeks, mostly every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 18:00 to 19:00.
**Where?** Lugi Lions RFC, Centrala IP, Fasanvägen 2, Lund
**Shoes:** Rugby is played on grass; football boots (soccer cleats) or other studded shoes are recommended. If you don’t have them yet, it’s fine, but be prepared for some slippery practices.
**Clothing:** Sportswear that you feel comfortable in and can move freely in.NO hoodies with sippers or other loose parts that someone could get caught on.
**Note:** During training, do not wear (smart)watches, jewelry, or piercings. If piercings cannot be removed, tape them over with sports tape.
**Mouthguards:** Buy a mouthguard. Available at InterSport at NovaLund or online via Stadium (SISU mouthguard recommended).
Bring a bottle of water.
**Cost:** Participation in the introductory course is a one-time fee that varies which includes a club membership until march the following year so you will be able to train with the senior teams for half a year after the Novisch period. Try-outs for the first week are free of charge. Note that a membership in the club also gives you access to all fun club events such as Crayfish party, End of season dinner etc.
**After the intro?** After the introductory training, you can join one of Lugi teams. There are two senior teams, men and women that play both 7s and 15s rugby and a social side team “Lugi Roarriors” that is focusing on social tournaments and competes at 10s tournaments.
