Charlie represents LUGI at Scandinavian Shieldmaidens rugby youth tournament

This past weekend one of our youth players took part in the inaugural Shield Maidens tournament held in Uppsala. Here’s a little review from Charlie and her mum Nadia.

Malmö, Trelleborg (Pingvin) and Lund (Lugi) represented southern Sweden in the first ever Scandinavian Shieldmaidens rugby tournament in Uppsala this weekend. 11 girls from the 3 clubs came together in the U14s and played brilliantly, earning a well-deserved second place trophy, first place going to “The Dutch Girls”, a very strong academy team from the Netherlands. Over 100 girls took part over the 2 days, making for some very exciting matches and a fantastic sporting spirit. Thanks to all the organisers! Skåne looks forward to a rematch next year!
